You will not bully us, Donald!
When Donald Trump tried to unilaterally deport Colombian nationals back to Colombia on a US military plane on 1/26/25, the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, rejected that, saying, in effect, his people were not to be treated like slaves (as were Brazilian nationals being deported by the US in chains and handcuffs, on US military planes with faulty air conditioning systems).
Trump threatened 25% tariffs on Colombia immediately, to be raised to 50% a week later. Petro did not hesitate to announce that Colombia would respond in kind, immediately ordering 25% tariffs on US products. Petro also sent a Colombian Presidential plane to bring his people home with dignity, whereupon Trump withdrew his decision on Tariffs.
FOX news and MAGA are portraying this as a great example of "Trump giving America respect again". They could not be further from the truth. First of all, it was Donald who was forced to back down. Moreover, it is not respect, but disdain that is garnered from other civilized countries for this type of behavior.
The reality is that Donald behaved disgracefully, and thereby brought shame on the US rather than respect.
The transfer of Colombian nationals could have been achieved by Trump respectfully communicating with Colombia in a peaceful, cooperative and diplomatic manner. That is how "civilized" governments behave with each other. Using threats and bullying may lead to singular outcomes Trump desires, but, besides being the most base, brutish way of behaving, this type of behavior is "successful" at the expense of relationships.
Unilateral action, accompanied by threats, is the most uncivilized manner of treating other human beings and other countries. What a disgraceful way to represent the American people, Donald! You do not deserve an ounce of respect for your bullying behaviors.

Judges say no to Donald!

On January 23, 2025, Reagan-appointed senior United States district court judge for the Western District of Washington, John C. Coughenour became the first federal judge in the United States to temporarily block Donald Trump's executive order ending birthright citizenship, siding with the states of Arizona, Illinois, Oregon and Washington. Coughenour called the order "blatantly unconstitutional." The temporary restraining order is in effect for 14 days. (from Wikipedia)
On 1/28/25 US District Judge Loren L. AliKhanon blocked Trump's attempted freeze on disbursement of a variety of Federal Funds. Democracy Docket comments: "Congress enacted a law in the early 70s to stop Richard Nixon's practice of not dispersing funds that Congress had appropriated. The Constitution gives CONGRESS, not the Executive Branch, the power to appropriate funds and to pass laws. And there are laws that have been passed here appropriating funds. And it is not up to Donald Trump to simply decide that they are not going to distribute the funds that Congress has already said have to be distributed."
In 2016, Jessica Denson was a young aide in Donald Trump's election campaign. When she experienced abuse there and wanted to talk about it, she was threatened by the Trump campaign with the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) she had signed. She fought a harrowing legal battle against Trump for 6 hard years. As a result, every part of Trump's NDA was declared to be illegal. This victory freed not only her, but everyone who had been silenced by the same illegal NDA.
An absolute stud
As reported by Glenn Kirschner on his YouTube Channel "Justice Matters", on 1/31/25, a DOJ (Department of Justice) official was sent by Donald Trump to order acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll (photo insert above) to fire FBI agents involved in the investigation of January 6th (2021) rioters and insurrectionists. Brian flat out refused. In a message circulated within the FBI after the incident an agent reports "Driscoll is an absolute stud. Held his ground and told WH [White House] proxy, DOJ, to "F*** Off."
Furthermore, on 2/3/25, Glenn reports that top New York FBI field office agent and former Marine James Dennehy likewise announced he will "dig in against any lawless actions taken against his agents". He also praised interim FBI directors Driscoll and Kissane for "fighting" for the bureau's employees, saying "They are Warriors".
